The Space Age

Do you think that we as Humans should already be in space colonizing the moon or other planets?  Do you think that once Humans start colonizing space, that all nations on Earth will disappear and become united as a planet instead of independent nations or continue bickering and fighting amongst each other?  What kind of new technologies do you think will be invented because we are able to colonize in space?

Tell me what you guys think and remember I could care less if you disagree with me, I just want to see how others view, interpret, and answer the questions. People need to see different ideas and different answers from different people, so that everyone can expand on their own knowledge and thought processes.

  1. We should have colonized Mars by now. The only obstacle is funding.

  2. no reason to spend tens of millions sending 50 people to another planet when it could be used to save millions of people from starving to death. new follower

  3. Nah not yet. Our knowledge of space is limited, relatively speaking, not to mention our resources. Give it till the end of the century. Until then, we can only dream.

  4. No I think that we are not ready and do not yet have enough knowledge. Someday though.

  5. If we had people bright enough, we would have done it by now, but funding is not the obstacle, lack of technologies which could drive really fast is the only obstacle for now

  6. Living on the moon would be wondrous, but it wont happen anytime soon.

  7. give a few more years and i will own property on the moon

  8. That will never happen. Wee use a LOT of resources just to send a couple of astronauts to the moon, imagine the costs to build a civilization on another planet

  12. 20 years ago everyone thought today we would be colonizing Mars, and we still aren't. Stuff's progressing slower than you think

  13. Considering the government has been downsizing at NASA the past year... I don't think this will happen anytime soon

  14. Sadly this stuff would happen for a few hundred years. I'm going to have to rely on cryonics.

  15. I think we should spend more time fixing the problems here on earth than focusing our efforts on space, hell we know more about whats out in the vast nothingness of space than we do about the bottom of our own oceans.

  17. I think we definitely should spend money exploring space. Think of the possibilities of what we could find!

  18. Colonizing other planets is necessary for the expansion of the human race. Really, problems need to be solved for the seven billion people here on Earth first, but other worlds are definitely a necessity.

I like the questions idea for this blog. Definitely will be following this.

  19. Followed. I think we're going to use up all of Earth's resources sooner or later, and will have to move on.

  20. I think we could have been exploring it, if religion was never invented and people used simple logic.

  21. We have much evolving to do intellectually before we'll be ready for space, not just exploring I mean

  22. I hate the excuse that we need to solve the problems on Earth first. There will always be problems, conflict is a part of life. We can't just focus on fixing the bad, that's just depressing and sad. We have to make awesome stuff happen too. For every $1 spent on NASA, $98 goes to social programs. By cutting cutting spending on social programs 1% you could double NASA's budget. And people always complain about NASA's budget and being a waste of money, but it is only a mere 0.58% of the TOTAL national budget. We can do A LOT better people.
